my background

I have over a decade’s experience in the publishing industry, including two years as Managing Editor of a magazine, a degree in Book & Media Studies, and a graduate certificate in Publishing (✦ full CV here ✦). I’m a Canada Council for the Arts grant recipient and a regular reader for literary magazine PRISM international.

My own writing explores the intersection of folklore, pop culture, and surrealism. I’m a strong believer in the importance of keeping whimsy and fantasy alive — particularly through rewriting and transforming traditional stories.

Outside the realm of writing and editing, you can find me DJing under the moniker Critter, and organizing vibrant queer events with my DIY party collective, PUCKER UP!

From the first meeting, I could feel Briana’s aspiration to understand every detail of our website overhaul, and her willingness to work together to craft the perfect copy.
